I think I have already discussed in a previous message about the fact that a scout is very useful. Here are again some reasons:
1. for an attacker: you can send the scout to see what your “victim” has in the village. That would help you calculate better the amount of force you need to send there (not too many soldiers for less resources, or not too few for many resources).
2. from the defensive village point of view: you can always see if anyone scouted you.
As a very aggressive player, for me SCOUTS were the priority before doing anything else. For a teuton, you just need to build an academy, for the other races, it’s needed a stable too, since the scouts are riding horses.
No matter what race you are playing, try to research this as soon as you can. I used to farm a lot and while increasing the soldiers number at the same time. After 1 week or less of playing I developed scouts and they helped me a lot. Now I can do a bit of research before sending my troops to plunder other villages and I’d also be warned if anyone scouted my village.
If you only knew how many times your village is scouted in a day’s time, I think you’d also think that scouts are important.
